Looking at the white flight from London that’s going on now which is the reason thousands and thousands of new houses need to be built all around London. I think a lot of people have come to the same conclusion as you did. It’s certainly not going to get better..

And probably very much worse.

Yes, it will get worse. It's heart-breaking. I used to LOVE London, utterly love it. Now I don't even go there to visit for an afternoon.

We’ve allowed this wreckage. God forgive us.

In a sense we have, in another sense we didn't. We were steamrolled. I've been with old native Londoners in pubs and I've wanted to scream at them: WHY did you let this happen to your city???!!! But they had no choice. And now, if they voice any opposition, they could feel the full force of the law.

Where have all the cockneys gone?

Essex. Or you could say they’ve been ethnically cleansed.

What would Churchill think?

He would be horrified. Mind you, it will always be the case that as soon as Churchill got back into power in 1951 he could have reversed the 1948 British Nationality Act. Why on earth did he not? Think of the long-term angst and agony that wouldn't have happened. Andrew Roberts could probably tell us - one suspects it was because an ageing Churchill had other things on his mind.
